Final WHS PTO Meeting Of The School Year - This Friday, May 11th
Please join us for coffee and a look at the "State of Weston High School" from Principal Lisa Wolak. Mrs. Wolak will give us a review of the year's accomplishments and a discussion of what lies ahead. The meeting will begin at 8:45am in the Main Office Conference Room.
The Weston Road Race - Saturday, May 26th – WHS PTO’s Biggest Fundraiser of the Year
Volunteers Needed on Race Day:
Volunteers are needed on the morning of the Road Race between 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Coffee and donuts are offered as an incentive to come out and help prepare for the Race. The real benefit, though, is the camaraderie of students, parents and faculty working together to raise money for our school.

Proceeds benefit the Weston High School PTO
HIGHLIGHTS:
Kids Fun Run (8:00am), 5K Walk (8:35), Cash Prizes, Awards & Refreshments, T-Shirts & Goody Bags To First 500 Registrants, Mile Splits, Water Station, Electronic Chip Timing, USATF Certified (CT98006DR) Course. Scenic course through residential and historic sections of Weston.

Entry Fees Pre-registered by May 23rd - $20.00
Walk-in Race Registration after May 23d - $25.00
NOTE: Race day registration begins at 7:00am and closes sharply at 8:00am. Race starts at 8:30am sharp. On line registration is encouraged at

WHS Student Government Happenings
TODAY 5/9, the Freshmen and Sophomore WHS student governments are hosting their annual Senior Citizen Dance in the WHS Old Gym from 3-4 p.m. This Social aims to bring students and the senior citizens of Weston closer together in an afternoon of refreshments, music, and, of course, dancing. We'll even have a big band to play the standards all afternoon long! Stop by for some food, entertainment, and a guaranteed good time!
Around Town
SPECIAL OLYMPICS hosted by Weston Public Schools on Sat., May 12th
All are welcome to cheer on the athletes as they compete in the Southwest Regional games for Special Olympics this year on Saturday, May 12
th. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Athletes from the region will participate in Track and Field, Swimming and Tennis competitions. There will also be an “Olympic Town” where games and activities are provided for the athletes to participate in when they are not competing. Weston has its own team of students who are currently training and will compete in the Track and Field and Swimming events.

Food Allergy Seminar for Teens, May 17th, 7-9 p.m. at the New Canaan Public Library
The Food Allergy Initiative (FAI) of Connecticut will present a seminar, “Teens Helping Teens” on Thursday, May 17, from 7–9 p.m. at the New Canaan Public Library, 151 Main Street. Scott Sicherer, M.D. (Jaffe Food Allergy Institute, Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York), a world-renowned physician, researcher, and author, will facilitate a teen forum. Teens, pre-teens, parents, teachers, school nurses, and anyone interested in learning more about managing food allergies as a teen is welcome to attend. Weston Historical Society Art Show and Sale – Every Weekend until May 20th, 1-5 p.m.
Come experience a little bit of Soho in Weston. In April and May, the Weston Historical Society will be sponsoring an art show and sale. The show is being held in conjunction with ArtWhirl, a multi-talented group of professional artists, all based in Fairfield County, offering a wide choice of styles, subjects and media including Doug Leigh, Paul Heifetz, Bobbi Eiken Mullen, Andy Neilly, Wendy Pieper, Ellin Spadone, Liz Ward and Laura Wilk.
The sale will be held in the new Weston Historical Society Archive Building located at 104 Weston Road, Weston, CT behind the Coley Homestead. Admission is free. The show will continue every weekend, Saturday and Sunday, through May 20 from 1 – 5 PM (except for May 13, Mother’s Day). Proceeds from sales of art go to the Weston Historical Society.
